Arranged with them to install a non-return valve on the geyser's hot water pipe in my roof. Installation of the valve itself was perfectly fine. The problem is that they did the installation by lifting up roof tiles and tearing down a meter stretch of radiant shielding I personally installed. They did not put this shielding back in place/where they found it when they were done and just left it torn and hanging. They did this because, I am assuming, they were too lazy to carry their ladder up my stairs to the second floor and go through the trap door like they are supposed to. Seeing as your plumbers do not know the purpose of the shielding it is two-fold: Firstly, to keep solar heat out and radiant heat in. Secondly, to seal the roof completely from external air flow. Thus creating an extra layer of air insulation between the tiles and ceiling. The former is weakened by a torn stretch but the latter is rendered COMPLETELY USELESS IF THERE IS A GAPING HOLE FOR AIR TO FLOW THROUGH.
